SIX STRADDLES?! 3 way ALL IN!
Hand of the Week

Dear friends, fans, and the whoever invented the big blind...
If you’re new here, every week we talk about one hand makes Table 1 Table 1. We call it the Hand of the Week!
This week’s hand is special because...
We’ve got 6 straddles on (up to $3,200!)
One player is all in blind
A 3 way all in
Run it once!
Now that I have your attention, let’s talk about straddling. For those who don’t know, a straddle is just a blind bet after the big blind that doubles the stakes of the game. Basically it creates a new big blind. Well, have you ever seen the small blind become the new big blind?!
Anyways on to the hand:
Justin Young is in the small blind. He’s sitting on a short stack of about $5.5k. He’s a little tilted, we’re all a little tipsy, and the chips are finding their way into the pot a bit more liberally. I bet when Justin got dealt in this hand he thought the small blind would be an investment of $25…
As it turns out the big blind is the only player who doesn’t end up straddling this hand 😂. Justin puts out his $25, the big blind is $50, then the next player straddles it up to $100, followed by $200, $400, $800, $1,600 on the button 😱
Not to be out-gambled in his own game, Justin reaches deep and sticks out the $3,200 straddle! That’s more than half of his $5.5k stack! The action folds around to Clay in the cutoff, or the 4th straddler, or the $800 position, or whatever the hell you’re supposed to call this spot. In any event, Clay goes all in for $10k or so. The button, Jimmy, who’s got everyone behind him covered goes all in as well. And Justin calls without looking. How could he not, he stuck half his chips out there. Only Phil Hellmuth could get away in this spot.
They all decide to run it once. Jimmy says “I’ve got kings.”
The board comes out:
T♦️ 9♥️ T♠️ 3♥️ 3♣️
Clay announces “King high.”
Jimmy says “Me too” confirming that he was lying about the pocket kings! Justin still hasn’t looked at his hand and begins to reveal his holding.
Check out the video to see what happens!
See you next week for another Hand of the Week!
Cheers,
Art and Justin
