$100k pot in STAND UP GAME?!

Crazy hand at Table 1

Dear friends, fans, and people who like playing poker standing up...

If you’re new here, every week we talk about one hand that shows off what makes Table 1 poker the Desert Oasis that it is. We call it the Hand of the Week!

This week’s hand is special because...

  • It’s a pot over $100k!

  • A $28k river bet gets called

  • We’re playing the stand up game (more on that next)

Now that I have your attention, let me tell you about the stand-up game. If you’ve never played the game, everyone at the table has to stand up from their seats. In order to sit down, all you have to do it win a pot. Last man standing has to pay everyone at the table $200 a piece. Simple right? The best games usually are.

Anyways on to the hand:

The players involved are two that have been mentioned in past HOTW’s. We’ve got Achille, the French Slowrolling Extraordinaire, and Nick Howard, Poker staking entrepreneur. Fun fact about Nick. I once saw him drink 6 different mixed drinks, 2 beers, and a glass of champagne in one sitting. For some reason his tummy hurt the next day. Jury’s still out on that mystery.

We’re playing $25/$50/$100 with $100 BB Ante. It’s down to 4 players left standing. Here’s how to action went down:

EP Limps $100 (Sitting)

HJ (Achille) limps $100 (Sitting)

Button (Nick) raises to $1,300 (Standing)

BB calls $1,300 (Standing)

EP calls $1,300

Achille RERAISES to $4,500

Nick Calls on the button. Heads up to the flop. The pot is $11,775

J♦️ 7♥️ 6♦️

Achille bets $5,500. Nick calls. The pot is $22,775.

Turn is the 9♦️

Achille bets $12k. Nick snap calls! The pot balloons to $46,775.

The river is the 4♣️

Achille shoves for $28,000

Nick thinks for a minute or so…and I’ll let this 1 minute video tell the rest of the story. You GOTTA see what hands get shown.

I’ll let the video tell the rest of the story.

See you next week for another Hand of the Week!

And if you haven’t checked out the Table 1 Podcast yet, here’s our most popular episode where we interview poker living legend Chino Rheem. He’s got an incredible story and the interview is really funny!
