High Stakes Highlights - Triton’s Massive Cash Game

Hey there, fellow degen! It’s time for another edition of High Stakes Highlights. No one has time to watch every high-stakes poker stream. But we all want to know what happened! That’s where we come in.

We watch, so you don’t have to.

This time, we're diving into the action from Triton’s epic $1K/$2K + $5K BBA No Limit Hold'em game from August 7th, 2024. If you want to watch the whole thing, you can do so here. The game was packed with insane pots and intense moments. Let's break down the big winners, tough losses, and standout hands that defined this unforgettable session.

Big Winners:

Elton Tsang's Massive Run - Elton Tsang walked away with a staggering $1,241,000 in net winnings. He dominated the table with calculated aggression and timely plays. One of his standout moments came in a hand where he held a mystery hand against Handz, winning a $700k pot when Handz made top pair with A♠️J♦️. Check it out here

  • Elton vs. Tony G - One of the night's biggest pots involved a 1.5 million dollar clash between Elton and Tony G. There was a cagey limp on the button with A♣️A♥️, which was greeted by the small blind holding K♥️K♦️. The result? A massive pot that had the table buzzing. Watch the hand.

Look at that $1.5 Million Dollar Smile

Andy Ni's Quiet Domination - Andy Ni had a stellar night, amassing $1,181,000 in net winnings. But it almost wasn’t to be:

  • Andy vs. Tan Xuan - Andy held Q♥️Q♦️ and faced off against Tan Xuan's J♣️9♣️ that ended in a million-dollar pot. Xuan flopped top 2 pair and the money went in…then they run it twice Check it out.

  • Andy vs Tan Part 2 - Towards the end of the night Andy was “only” up $460,000. But this million dollar pot with Q♠️5♠️ vs Tan Xuan’s “Mystery Hand” put him up an additional $500k.

Phil Ivey's Masterclass - Phil Ivey showed once again why he's one of the best, raking in $597,500 in just 5 hours of play. In one standout hand, Phil shoves in over $400k preflop against two opponents with a "Mystery Hand." His ability to read weakness and make bold plays was on full display. Watch here.

Big Losers:

Tony G's Rollercoaster Ride - Tony G had a night to forget, losing $1,350,000. He ran into it early on with KK vs AA against Elton and seemed to run into it the rest of the night. It looked like he was going to quit after that hand, but he got back on the horse:

  • Tony G vs. Tan Xuan - Tony G rips it in on the turn for 1.5 million over a $382k bet with a flush draw. The question is, will Tan Xuan look him up? Watch the hand.

Adrian Mateos's Big Loss - The Conquistador had a tough night, saying adios to $776,000. He got stacked for $500k in the first orbit of the game in this pot and didn’t do much the rest of the night:

  • Adrian vs. Tan Xuan - Adrian makes it $32k preflop with Ace King, but as you all know out there, she looks good and never wins. The flop is ten high, but Adrian turns the ace…and rivers the king. Yet he somehow loses $500k? Watch the hand.

Tan Xuan's Tough Night - Tan Xuan also struggled, losing $599,000. He doubled up the first hand and then just dusted it off the rest of the night, dropping $1.1 million from his peak after stacking Adrian.

Noteworthy Hands:

Phil Ivey vs. Elton - Phil Ivey found himself in a big pot against Elton, who held K♠️Q♣️ and made the nut straight. However, a King on the river made a higher straight possible. Did Ivey have it in this $670k pot? Watch here.

Handz's Overbet vs. Elton - This hand was wild. Handz overbets $375k into $250k, trying to push Elton off his trips on a relatively safe board. Will the overbet get the job done? Check it out.

Wrap-Up

That’s a wrap for today’s high-stakes action. Elton Tsang, Andy Ni, and Phil Ivey emerged as the big winners, while Tony G and Adrian Mateos found themselves at the losing end of some massive pots.
