$200k Pot In A $50/$100 Game Caught On Video

HOTW is BACK

Dear fellow degens,

If you’re new here, every week (or so…) we talk about one hand that stuns, shocks, or just makes our eyes pop out of their sockets 👀. We call it the Hand of the Week!

This week’s hand is special because...

  • It’s a $200k pot at a $50/$100 game!

  • We’re playing the stand-up game

  • The reaction from the winner is too good. Have to share it!

Now that I have your attention, here’s the set-up. A player named Shane has been running very poorly so far in the game. It’s been less than an hour and he’s already stuck $75k. His mood is…shall we say…damaged. He’s got everyone putting the $200 straddle on, and for this hand we’re also playing the stand up game.

For those unfamiliar with the stand up game the rules are simple. Everyone at the table has to stand up. Once you win a pot you are allowed to sit down. The last man standing owes everyone at the table a bounty. In this case, $300 per player.

Anyways on to the hand:

Shane has put the $400 double straddle on for this pot. He’s determined to get even and he just might get his wish this hand. Shawn, a table 1 regular, is in the $100 blind, and he opens the pot up to $1600. Shane re-raises him to $5.5k. Shawn comes back over the top for $15,000 total. Shane calls the bet.

The flop comes down:

K♠️ 3♦️ T♠️

Shawn continuation bets for somewhere in the neighborhood of $10-15k. Shane doesn’t waste much time before JAMMING ALL IN for about $75k effective. Shawn calls the bet…
